Geometry
This course is designed to develop an understanding of basic structure of geometry,
plane, and solid, and of the critical and creative reasoning skills necessary to enable
students to function successfully in the 21st century. This course offers the student the
opportunity to apply the process of mathematical modeling to real-world situations and
to communicate mathematical ideas and processes both orally and in writing to become
proficient in problem solving. The content includes the basics of numerical reasoning, the use of algebraic methods in solving problems in geometry, the properties of
geometric figures and special applications, the area and volume formulas, probability
and statistics, and transformations.
